Hello

I’m Jamie Williams, LMHC, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, mom of two, and co-founder of Kindred Connection.

Through Gentle Growth Mental Health Counseling, I provide therapy for individuals, teens, and families who are navigating life’s transitions—whether that’s parenthood, stress, identity shifts, or simply trying to find your footing again.  My approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and authenticity. I believe growth doesn’t have to be perfect, it can be gentle, messy, and beautifully human. This space was created for you to slow down, feel supported, and reconnect with who you are, one honest conversation at a time.

My Story

I’ve always been a helper—someone drawn to people’s stories and the connections that shape them. For a long time, I thought I wanted to be an art teacher, but I realized that what I cared about most, creativity, emotion, and personal connection, was often lost in the structure of the classroom and state standards. After deciding to take a different path, I joined AmeriCorps and worked in a low-income school in Pheonix, Arizona as a Community Resource Coordinator. One girl would come sit with me every day at lunch.  We made art and she talked. Those quiet moments showed me the healing power of being seen and heard, and that’s when I knew I wanted to become a therapist. Though my work has evolved with life and experience, I’ve never looked back.

Alongside my private practice, I’m also the co-founder of Kindred Connection, a collective of perinatal providers and community partners dedicated to supporting parents and families through every stage of the journey. While Kindred Connection builds communities of care, Gentle Growth allows me to offer direct, individualized therapy—helping clients create meaningful change.

With over a decade of experience as a therapist, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside children, teens, parents, and families through some of life’s most meaningful and challenging seasons. My work has taken place in homes, community clinics, crisis programs, and private practice — giving me a deep understanding of the many ways life, relationships, and identity can evolve over time.

I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can exhale — where you don’t have to have it all together, and where it’s safe to show up exactly as you are. It’s a space to slow down, untangle what’s heavy, and reconnect with your strength, compassion, and sense of self.

My own path to motherhood has shaped both my heart and my work. I’ve known the ache of waiting and uncertainty, and I’ve also known the deep transformation that comes with finally holding what you’ve hoped for. Those personal experiences led me to one of my greatest passions: walking beside others on their perinatal journey — from longing to start a family, through fertility challenges, pregnancy, postpartum, and every tender step in between.

I understand that motherhood and parenthood— in all its forms — can be both beautiful and brutal. It can bring immense love and joy, but also loss, identity shifts, relationship changes, and an overwhelming amount of responsibility. My goal is to help you feel grounded in your story, supported in your emotions, and empowered to move forward with grace and self-compassion.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, a certification in Trauma Studies, and a background in Fine Arts. I bring both science and creativity into the therapy room — blending evidence-based tools with real-life strategies and expressive approaches to help you find balance, healing, and growth. I often integrate mindfulness, somatic awareness, and creative reflection into my sessions, meeting you exactly where you are.

Above all, I believe in gentle growth — the idea that healing doesn’t have to be rushed or perfect. It can be slow, intentional, and deeply personal. Whether you’re in a season of grief, change, or new beginnings, therapy can be a space to rediscover hope and remember that you don’t have to do it all alone.

A Few Fun Facts About Me

Here’s a glimpse into who I am beyond the therapy room—just a mom, a creative, and a human doing her best to practice what she teaches.

  • I'm a mom of two, you can frequently find me with a rock in my pocket or a special "treasure" in my purse right next to the diaper

  • I originally studied Fine Arts and love doing my own art and anything creative—especially with my kids

  • My ideal Sunday includes a verrrry slow start to the day and cozy snuggles, probably a project or two

  • I frequently play audiobooks while I fall sleep, I pretend this counts as reading

  • I believe growth doesn’t have to be perfect—it can be gentle, messy, and beautiful all at once.
